Last year, Hungary was represented for the eighth time at the "World Skills Championships", WorldSkills Lyon 2024, where 1,382 young professionals from 69 countries competed in 59 official events and 3 demonstration trades.
The Hungarian team achieved an outstanding result - our country finished in 10th place in terms of average medals.
Zsolt Koncsik made a special contribution to this performance, as he won the bronze medal in the IT Systems Operator competition. Koncsik had previously competed with Tamás Bandúr at the 2023 EuroSkills European Championships in Gdańsk, where they won a gold medal as a team. Their acquaintance goes back a long way, as they both studied at the István Pataky István Technical School of Communications and Information Technology in Kőbánya.
Now, together with János Csőke, who helped the duo prepare as experts, they tell us more about the world of WorldSkills.

In 2025, the centre plans to renovate the sports fields in Balatonlelle, expand the women's toilets in the main building and introduce new programmes such as the "Kőbánya Day" event.

In a video on TV10 Kőbánya, the Municipality of Kőbánya organised a public forum on the development of the road to Liszt Ferenc Airport.
At the forum, the planners and representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Transport presented the main elements of the project, several of which involve quarries. The participants were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr. Róbert Antal D. Kovács.
It was clear from the comments of the participants in the forum that the development is being carefully considered, either because of the traffic or because of the necessary expropriation.
One of the main areas of interest in Kőbánya is the railway crossing at the junction of Bihari út and Kőér utca. The experts told the forum that the environmental approval of the plans will take place until about the end of the year, after which the building permits will follow, as well as the necessary steps in the expropriation compensation process.
